I had the honour of meeting Marie during a photo session organised by a friend. I went without expectations... what an experience! Marie is endlessly kind and gentle, very available and patient throughout the whole process. The session was a wonderful moment — I loved following her guidance, positioning myself in the light she had spotted, finning to catch the school of fish she had seen. I simply enjoyed the water (I already freedive but my friend doesn't — she felt very comfortable too) and Marie turned it into sumptuous memories. Your questions, my advice
Are there any prerequisites?
You need to know how to swim and enjoy the water. You do not need to be a freediver — immersions last only a few seconds. The most beautiful photos are often taken just below the surface. For freedivers, sessions are adapted accordingly.

You need to know how to swim and enjoy the water. You do not need to be a freediver — immersions last only a few seconds. The most beautiful photos are often taken just below the surface. For freedivers, sessions are adapted accordingly.
Do I need to know how to pose?
Not at all. I guide you throughout the session with movements to follow. All photos are in motion, highlighting the fluidity of the body underwater.
What should I wear?
Bring several outfits you feel comfortable in — swimwear of course! For men, avoid baggy swim shorts (air bubbles) and prefer fitted boxer-style trunks; a simple pair of boxers works perfectly. You can also wear dressed outfits: jeans, dresses… I personally prefer white, black, and blue, but feel free to wear red if that's your colour. It's your session!
What equipment is provided?
I can provide mask and fins free of charge on request. If you bring your own gear, make sure your mask is properly prepared to avoid fogging — otherwise your face won't be clearly visible.
When does a session take place?
Sessions can happen at any time during the day, but I recommend morning light (7am–10:30am) or afternoon light (2:30pm–5:30pm).
How does a session work?
We always start with a preparatory briefing tailored to your wishes. Briefing time is not included in the session — the stated duration is time in the water. We enter the water with a safety float to rest between each immersion. Each immersion lasts only a few seconds to give you a variety of shots. If you want photos without a mask, we start with those. A few days later you receive a preview gallery, then fully retouched images. Digital format only — you can then print them with your preferred lab.
What if it rains?
There is rain and then there is rain — in all cases we try to keep the session. Forecasts aren't always reliable here. Light rain can make shots absolutely stunning. If it's heavy rain, we'll wait over a coffee or tea… and if despite our best efforts the weather won't allow us in the water, I'll offer to reschedule or cancel.
How does booking work?
Once we've been in touch, discussed your wishes, and locked in a time slot, I send you a contract to sign and return by email, along with a deposit request. The deposit is refunded if we mutually agree due to weather. It is not refunded if you don't show up for the session.
What comes next?
After the session, we're almost always asked where to take freediving lessons. That's why we created a special offer combining a freediving course + a photo shoot on the same day (course in the morning and shoot in the afternoon, or vice versa), or spread over several days.
